If your wondering just what a duck race is then browse this site to find out more. The Llanelli Sea Cadets are organising the first annual duck race for Llanelli where many charities can benefit from just one event!

2009s Llanelli Duck Race was a quacking success with over 1500 ducks racing down Lliedi River on the 30th August.

There were 4 races in total, and the days procedings were officially opened by the Town Mayor and Leader of the Rural Council. Cllr J Jenkins and Cllr J Jones respectively.

The weather disrupted the day, raining hard all day, something that the ducks enjoyed, but spectators disliked! Unfortunately the Cheerleading Display and kickboxing displays were cancelled, and many charity and business stalls could not open.

We now look forward to next years event, the 2010 Duck race, which the Carmarthenshire County Council are looking to assist us with, will be a bigger and better event, and we hope to sell up to 5000 ducks in this event, helping as many charities as possible.

We may even look to hold one in Carmarthen. Keep checking back for updates.
